The End Of NaBloPoMo

.

Its the final day of NaBloPoMo.

As tempted as I am to post saying hooray, I did it, I decided to save that for another day and instead update on some of the months posts.

Sleep
There was minimal, if any improvement, I was still up 4 times a night and evenings interrupted with early waking. Things could not go on and came to a head with cross words.

However, a new approach has improved the situation immensely and last night was night 4 of our new approach to sleep and saw Munchie sleep 7pm-1:20am. 2:30am-5:20am and 5:30am-8:10am.

Our new approach to sleep has not been easy, it was not my first choice in dealing with sleep but things had come to a head. No doubt our approach will draw negative comments and judgment but sometimes it really is a case being at the end of the line and having no choice. I may blog about this further once we have been practicing it for a while longer or I may choose to stay quiet for an easy life.

Teeth
Tooth number one was swiftly followed by tooth number 2 and judging by Munchie's mood, cheeks and nappies I suspect number 3 and 4 are going to be very soon to follow.

Crawling
Munchie has gone from a few tentative movements forward on the 12th November to full on all fours crawling (when hes not too lazy). I had hoped his new found skill would bring him a month or so of contentment. However it only seems to have given him a new found intrigue for further skills and he can now be found trying to pull himself up on anything that stays still for too long, including Snaffles!

Overall I am pleased to have had such an exciting month for the NaBloPoMo to fall upon. Without the motivation of NaBloPoMo I may not have taken the opportunity to record many of Munchies firsts, sleep, teeth, crawling and life in general.

Night 3 of night weaning for us last night and it was going to be a biggie - hubby was away so it was down to me aka the milk lady.

She woke three times, I fed her the first time and two subsequent times cuddled her, read her a story and played with her and her teddies. Only took 15 mins before she was calm and back in her cot. She pretty much went to sleep straight away.

This is an achievement in one sense in that she's clearly not especially bothered about milk. However, she's still waking up and is expecting interaction and a cuddle.

Am not sure how to move gently from cuddle and story to nothing. Argh!

Babies are so complicated!

Glad I'm not the only one going through this.
